Baseball Game Preview: Peninsula Catholic Knights vs. Walsingham Academy Trojans

Peninsula Catholic hasn't had much luck against Walsingham Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Knights will host the Trojans at 4:30 p.m.

Peninsula Catholic is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 9-3 to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy.

Peninsula Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Billy Nice, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Matthew Brown also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Walsingham Academy got themselves on the board against Norfolk Christian on Wednesday, but Norfolk Christian never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Ambassadors. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Ambassadors: they've now won seven in a row.

Walsingham Academy pushed their record up to 7-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Peninsula Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
