Football Recap: Blue Hill Comes Up Short

Blue Hill played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons 62-34. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-6.

When it comes to explaining why Blue Hill lost, don't look at Jack Canterberry. Despite the final result, he rushed for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 20 yards and one TD.

Wilcox-Hildreth found their leader in sophomore Drew Blank, who rushed for 203 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 183 yards and four TDs on only 11 passes. Those 203 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Blank. Another player making a difference was Thomas Donley, who picked up 122 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Blue Hill and nudges their season record down to 1-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points over those games. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
