Softball Recap: Cary-Grove Takes a Loss

Cary-Grove saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 9-6 to the Shepard Astros. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Paityn Ahlquist was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Longergan, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cary-Grove's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Shepard, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Coming up, Cary-Grove will face off against Leyden at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Shepard, they will be taking part in a tournament against Downers Grove North at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
