Soccer Game Preview: Northside vs. Central

The Northside Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Central Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Central's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Northside is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Harris County on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. The Patriots have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Central made sure to put some goals up on the board against Jonesboro on Tuesday. They never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Lions have won three matchups by more than eight goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Jonesboro from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Marli Maxwell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Central's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Northside, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.
