Basketball Recap: Cromwell Starts Season with Win Against Ely

Cromwell took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 66-42 margin over the Ely Timberwolves. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cromwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carla Lopez, who went 7-for-16 on her way to 18 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Remington Olesiak was another key player, shooting 67% from beyond the arc en route to 20 points.

Coming up, Cromwell will welcome Virginia at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ely does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
