Basketball Game Preview: Bard Falcons vs. DC International Dragons

The Bard Falcons will square off against the DC International Dragons at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Bard is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup last Friday with ease, bagging a 70-43 win over Woodson.

Bard got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tony Evans out in front who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Andre Wright was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Bard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, DC International came up short against Veritas Collegiate Academy on Saturday, falling 85-65. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dragons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 26th in District of Columbia, while the Spartans are ranked 219th in Virginia).

This is the second loss in a row for DC International and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Bard, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Bard came out on top in a nail-biter against DC International in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 42-39. Will Bard repeat their success, or does DC International have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
