Baseball Preview: Lancaster Legends vs. Hamburg Bulldogs

The Lancaster Legends will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hamburg Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lancaster is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Saturday, just like they did against West Seneca West (and have done all season long). Lancaster was the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over West Seneca West on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but Lancaster sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Nathan Surdej looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Lancaster let Cameron Oddo and Eric Castren loose on the outfield. Oddo went 4-for-4 with a double, while Castren scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Mike Schaefer, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Hamburg sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over Amherst Central on Wednesday.

Lancaster's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Hamburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season.
