The Somerset Academy Losee Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 75-48 stomp they got on the road against Troy. Given Somerset Academy Losee's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Nevada, while Troy is ranked 147th in California), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Roderick Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Finley , who scored 11 points.
Somerset Academy Losee's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Troy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Somerset Academy Losee will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Legacy at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. Legacy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. Troy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northwood on January 6, 2024. Northwood will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
