Recap: Holliday Eagles vs. Childress Bobcats
The Holliday Eagles waltzed into Saturday's match with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They skirted past Childress 50-47. The victory was all the more spectacular given Holliday's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Childress is ranked 27th).
Holliday's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keitenn Bristow, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. The game was Bristow's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashtyn Berry, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
Holliday's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Childress, they bumped their record down to 11-1 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Holliday will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Paradise at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th. One thing working in Paradise's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Childress, they will play host again and welcome Amarillo, where tip off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Amarillo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
