Softball Game Preview: West Jefferson Roughriders vs. Hamilton Township Rangers

The West Jefferson Roughriders are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Hamilton Township Rangers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Jefferson will be strutting in after a win while Hamilton Township will be coming in after a defeat.

West Jefferson is headed out to face Hamilton Township after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. West Jefferson put the hurt on Licking Heights with a sharp 12-0 victory on Tuesday.

Jenna Mannon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Mannon was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, West Jefferson got a massive performance out of Hailey McBrayer, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Payton Kincade was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

West Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 20 runs the game before, Hamilton Township was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to Jonathan Alder.
