Basketball Game Preview: Mansfield Christian Flames vs. Central Christian Comets

Mansfield Christian and Central Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Mansfield Christian Flames will challenge the Central Christian Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mansfield Christian is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Monroeville just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Central Christian earned a 67-58 win over Mogadore on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.

Central Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Mansfield Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Mansfield Christian came up short against Central Christian in their previous meeting back in January, falling 51-47. Can Mansfield Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
