Berthoud and Roosevelt are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but likely not for long. The Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Roughriders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Berthoud managed to keep up with Greeley Central until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Spartans came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Berthoud can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Greeley Central are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Roosevelt after they claimed the first goal on Saturday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Mountain View by a score of 2-1. Roosevelt have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Berthoud's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Everything went Berthoud's way against Roosevelt when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Berthoud made off with a 4-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
