Cornerstone Academy and Countryside Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Minutemen at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Monday, Cornerstone Academy was beaten by Oak Hall 95-59. The Cougars have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Joa Walters, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Owens, who posted 17 points.

Meanwhile, Countryside Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against Saint Francis Catholic Academy last Thursday, falling 68-37. The Minutemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.

Cornerstone Academy will have to contain Levi Watson as he made an impact in Countryside Christian's last game. He dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Malachi Ross, who earned nine points.

Cornerstone Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Countryside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Cornerstone Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Countryside Christian in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 49-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
