Football Game Preview: Ripon Indians vs. Hilmar Yellowjackets + How To Watch

The Ripon Indians will challenge the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ripon is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Ripon came up short against Escalon and fell 35-28.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Andrew Shaw, who rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 127 yards and one TD. Gavin Decena was Shaw's top target, picking up 94 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, while it was Hilmar who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Hughson who put up more. The Yellowjackets took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. While the Yellowjackets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 7-0 in the first quarter.

Ripon will have to contain Cohen Felber as he made an impact in Hilmar's last game. He rushed for 149 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Felber's longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Nathan Ayala, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Hilmar's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Ripon, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.

Ripon won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2024, slipping by Hilmar 27-26. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
