Basketball Recap: Palo Verde Extends Winning Streak to Three

Palo Verde strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 54-44 victory over the Corona del Sol Aztecs.

Rashad Ortiz was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 69% from the field en route to 23 points. The last time his field goal percentage was this high was back in November of 2024. Kameron Pippen was another key player, going 5-for-11 on his way to 11 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Palo Verde's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Corona del Sol, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Palo Verde will venture away from home to take on Cholla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corona del Sol, they will take on Millennium at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Aztecs will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
