Volleyball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion lost against Carbondale two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Terriers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Marion ultimately came up short, they really made Carbondale work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-18.

Marion's offense was headlined by Sawyer Adams and Paislee Freebourn, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Kaylin Wolfe and her ten assists.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Carbondale, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.

Marion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Mt. Vernon on the 9th. As for Carbondale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Pittsfield on the 11th.
