Gretna East is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Riverdale Ridge. The Griffins came up short against the Ravens, falling 8-2. The Griffins just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Charlotte Beach was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Gretna East's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Riverdale Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gretna East will face off against Arlington on Monday. The Griffins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
