Baseball Recap: New Milford Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

New Milford won against Bunnell on Thursday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Green Wave didn't even let the Immaculate Mustangs on the board, marking the Green Wave's second-straight 3-0 shutout. For the Green Wave, this counts as revenge for the 7-5 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Immaculate's batters probably weren't too happy with Ryan Hughes, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (he gave up zero walks). Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Hughes.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nolan Bell, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run.

New Milford pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Immaculate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Milford will square off against Weston at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Green Wave are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Immaculate, they will head out on the road to square off against Abbott RVT at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
