Basketball Recap: University Charter Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

University Charter had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost to the Demopolis Tigers on the road by a 64-49 margin. The Trail Blazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

University Charter's loss came despite strong showings from Andrez Bell and Andayvean Bell. Andrez went 10-for-21 on his way to 22 points and eight boards, while Andayvean posted 17 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Andrez is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 48% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Zy'Darrius Harris was another key player, putting up three points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Demopolis has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University Charter will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Holt at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Demopolis, they will host Thomasville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
