Basketball Recap: Canyon Ridge's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Canyon Ridge came into Tuesday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over the Burley Bobcats on Tuesday. The game marked the Riverhawks' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Canyon Ridge had a senior duo take command as Dylan Brown went 8 of 14 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points and Mason Hill went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Cartwright, who posted seven points.

Despite the loss, Burley still got an impressive performance from Jake Seely, who had 11 points. Another player making a difference was Cove Thompson, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points.

Canyon Ridge's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Burley, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Canyon Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-48 victory against Minico on the 18th. As for Burley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
