Basketball Game Preview: Bountiful Redhawks vs. Payson Lions + Official Tickets

The Bountiful Redhawks will square off against the Payson Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bountiful will be strutting in after a victory while Payson will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Bountiful made off with a 42-41 win over Fremont. The Redhawks haven't had any issues with the Silverwolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Bountiful's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maleah Nelson led the charge by putting up 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maile Murdock, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Payson played a tough contest last Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 52-31 to Lehi.

Bountiful will need to focus on slowing down Emmy Hales, one of several Payson players who made an impact when they last played. She earned nine points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Hales is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Abbie Rowley, who put up eight points and five boards.

Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bountiful, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
