Football Recap: Severance Skates Past Mountain View with Ease

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Severance brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They breezed past the Mountain View Mountain Lions to the tune of 41-7 on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-0.

Severance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Iversen led the charge by throwing for 124 yards and one TD while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also punching in one touchdown on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Iversen a new career-high in rushing yards (17). Another rusher making a difference was Max Yahn, who rushed for 83 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Severance was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Severance's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Mountain View, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Severance will welcome Fort Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Silver Knights will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.44 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mountain View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Roughriders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mountain Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
