Addenbrooke Classical Academy extends home winning streak to eight

Recap: Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs vs. DSST: Cedar Falcons

The Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They snuck past DSST: Cedar with a 43-38 win. This was payback for Addenbrooke Classical Academy, who suffered a 34-26 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy was led to victory by Peyton Trujillo and Lucia Rodriguez. Trujillo dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Rodriguez dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katelyn Fortune, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Fortune also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Raniya Paul was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for DSST: Cedar, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Addenbrooke Classical Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome Front Range Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. DSST: Cedar will take on DSST: Green Valley Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
