Basketball Recap: University Takes a Loss

University lost against Westchester back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The University Wildcats were dealt a 63-16 defeat at the hands of the Westchester Comets. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 864th, while the Comets are ranked 76th).

Despite the loss, University still got an impressive performance from Katty Noundjio, who posted 14 points. That was a full 87.5% of University's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

University has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Westchester, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5.

University has already played their next match, a 74-11 loss against Hamilton on the 31st. As for Westchester, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-21 win against Venice on the 31st.
