Basketball Recap: Joliet Central Takes a Loss

Joliet Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 64-38 to the Bloom Blazing Trojan. While losing is never fun, the Steelmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 562nd, while the Blazing Trojan are ranked 86th).

Vincent Kelly was nothing short of spectacular for Bloom: he went 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Kelly a new career-high in assists (four).

Joliet Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bloom, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Joliet Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-38 victory against Plainfield Central on the 10th. As for Bloom, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-54 win against Hammond Central on the 10th.
