Baseball Recap: Tonopah Comes Up Short

Tonopah lost to Smith Valley back in March of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Muckers lost 18-4 to the Bulldogs. The Muckers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brekken Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Tonopah is 2-1 when Miller posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bodin Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Tonopah's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Smith Valley, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Tonopah by a score of 21-6 later that day.
