Volleyball Recap: Hughson Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Izzy Piazza and Emery Visaraga + How To Watch

Hughson dropped to 15-4 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 3-1 to the Escalon Cougars. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Emery Visaraga and Izzy Piazza certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Visaraga had 19 assists and seven digs, while Piazza had 12 digs and two assists. Visaraga has been hot, having posted 15 or more assists the last five times she's played.

As for Escalon, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-9. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Escalon can attribute much of their success to Brynn Caton, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Coming up, Hughson will head out on the road to take on Sonora at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Escalon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Enochs on the 17th.
