Football Game Preview: Portsmouth Abbey Ravens vs. Proctor Academy Hornets

Portsmouth Abbey hasn't had much luck against Proctor Academy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Ravens will be playing at home against the Hornets at 3:00 p.m. Proctor Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Portsmouth Abbey, who comes in off a win.

Portsmouth Abbey is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Groton School. The Ravens simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Groton School 34-7. Given the Ravens' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 38th in Rhode Island, while Groton School are ranked 243rd in Massachusetts) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Proctor Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by St. Mark's and fell 34-7.

Portsmouth Abbey took a serious blow against Proctor Academy when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 41-0. Can the Ravens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
