Softball Recap: Knox Redskins vs. Central Noble Cougars
In their third game on Saturday, the Knox Redskins came up short against the Central Noble Cougars and fell 9-4.
Karleigh Friedrich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kadence Qualls was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
On Central Noble's side, Kensy Kimmell made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Kimmell was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Avery Deter was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Katie Forker, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Knox has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Central Noble, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Knox will be playing in front of their home fans against New Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central Noble, they will head out on the road to square off against Prairie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
