Baseball Recap: Rock Ridge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Broad Run

Rock Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 20-4 to the Broad Run Spartans. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Phoenix's highest-scoring match to date.

Rock Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Alkahl, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That hit marked the first that Alkahl got this season. Another was Nikhil Middha, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Rock Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Broad Run, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Rock Ridge will take on Park View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Broad Run will be paying especially close attention to the Phoenix's game: after the Phoenix faces off against Dominion, they'll take on Broad Run again at 6:30 p.m. on May 1.
