Dalton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the LaBrae Vikings on Wednesday, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Mei Simmons spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lily Teague was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Dalton's win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for LaBrae, they moved to 19-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Dalton will square off against Hillsdale at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. LaBrae does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
