Football Game Preview: South Wasco County Redsides vs. Ione/Arlington Cardinals

The South Wasco County Redsides are taking a road trip to take on the Ione/Arlington Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Wasco County is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They took a blow against Sherman, falling 48-12.

Meanwhile, Ione/Arlington fell victim to Harper and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Hornets and fell 76-0. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Hornets are ranked tenth).

South Wasco County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Ione/Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything came up roses for South Wasco County against Ione/Arlington in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 52-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redsides since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
