Recap: Commerce Tigers vs. Elbert County Blue Devils
It was a good run, but the Commerce Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Elbert County by a score of 54-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Commerce has suffered yet this season.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Peters, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Sorrells, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Commerce's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Elbert County, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Commerce will take on Athens Christian at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Elbert County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rabun County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Rabun County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 608 points over their last nine matches.
