Volleyball Recap: Oakfield Takes a Loss

Oakfield and Abundant Life squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Oakfield had to settle for second. They came up short against the Challengers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Oaks have suffered since October 7th.

While Oakfield was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Abundant Life's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-16, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Oakfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Collien had 20 digs. Collien is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Abundant Life can attribute much of their success to Jada Grimes, who had 13 digs and two assists.

Oakfield's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Abundant Life, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 33-6.

Oakfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Abundant Life, they will host Waterloo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
