Recap: Strawberry Crest Chargers vs. Wharton Wildcats
The Strawberry Crest Chargers suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 53-32 walloping at the hands of Wharton. While losing is never fun, Strawberry Crest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 700th, while Wharton is ranked 160th).
Strawberry Crest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Maximus von Ancken, who scored six points. Bryon "Tra" Jones was another key contributor, scoring five points.
This is the second loss in a row for Strawberry Crest and nudges their season record down to 3-16. As for Wharton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strawberry Crest and Bloomingdale will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
