John Carroll Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Deshler 2-1.

John Carroll Catholic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-18, 15-7.

Meanwhile, Oak Mountain didn't have quite enough to beat Lawrence County on Saturday and fell 2-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Oak Mountain now has a losing record of 14-15. As for John Carroll Catholic, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11.
