Volleyball Recap: Northview Academy Extends Winning Streak to Five

Northview Academy had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in August.

Northview Academy was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15, 24-26, 25-17.

Northview Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sydney Cole, who had 21 digs and five assists. That's the most digs Cole has posted over her last six games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Garner, who had nine digs and three aces.

Northview Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Northview Academy will face off against rival Austin-East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gatlinburg-Pittman is set to square off against their familiar foe Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
