Interboro put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Upper Darby Royals as the Interboro Buccaneers made off with an 11-3 win. The Buccaneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Royals, too.
Jules Bergen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Summer Burrell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Mare Nagle, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5.
Interboro's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Upper Darby, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Interboro will take on Cardinal O'Hara at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Upper Darby, they will challenge Garnet Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Upper Darby has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
