Baseball Game Preview: Buena Chiefs vs. Glassboro Bulldogs

The Buena Chiefs will take on the Glassboro Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

If Buena beats Glassboro with 16 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Chiefs beat Cape May County Tech on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. Winning may never get old, but the Chiefs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Dylan O'Connell was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ben Cohen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Glassboro got themselves on the board against Wildwood on Friday, but Wildwood never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 10-0 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bulldogs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Buena's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average this season. As for Glassboro, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything went Buena's way against Glassboro in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Buena made off with a 13-0 victory. Do the Chiefs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
