Basketball Recap: Vanlue Drops Highest Score of Season Against Waite

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vanlue). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Waite Indians 60-32. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wildcats with their most commanding win of the season.

It was another big night for Olivia Secord, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Vanlue's points. Another player making a difference was Candace Saltzman, who posted eight points along with seven boards and three steals.

Vanlue smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Vanlue's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Waite, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Vanlue has already played their next match, a 57-43 win against Van Buren on the 6th. As for Waite, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-29 loss against Cardinal Stritch on the 3rd.
