Football Recap: Susan Moore Comes Up Short

Susan Moore might've scored the first points on Thursday, but it was North Sand Mountain who claimed the real prize. The Bulldogs lost to the Bison on the road by a 45-30 margin. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Susan Moore saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sam Garrison rushed for 123 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries, and also threw for 140 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes. Garrison's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. A healthy portion of Garrison's aerial production (89 yards to be exact) went to Lucas Beard, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Susan Moore has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for North Sand Mountain, their record now sits at 8-2.

As of now, neither Susan Moore nor the Bison have any future games scheduled.
