The Strasburg-Franklin Tigers will take on the North Ridgeville Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Wednesday, Strasburg-Franklin came up short against Louisville and fell 6-1.
Strasburg-Franklin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caradi Hartline, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. That hit was Hartline's first of the season.
Meanwhile, North Ridgeville had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They blew past the Pioneers 22-1. The game marked the Rangers' most dominant win of the season so far.
Selena Bottomlee looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Kailee Pasenow was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brennan Dillon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
North Ridgeville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
North Ridgeville's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Strasburg-Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Strasburg-Franklin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Ridgeville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts.
