Softball Recap: Clay-Battelle Takes a Loss

Clay-Battelle came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bridgeport Bulldogs, falling 13-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on April 7th.

Clay-Battelle has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Bridgeport, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Looking ahead, Clay-Battelle will be playing in front of their home fans against Tygarts Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.7 runs per game on average), something the Cee Bees will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bridgeport, they will face off against Shadyside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
