Volleyball Recap: Meigs Falls Despite Big Games from Jordin Davenport and Marlee Laudermilt

After a string of four wins, Meigs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against the Alexander Spartans, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 4th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-15, 25-12.

Meigs' loss came despite strong showings from Marlee Laudermilt and Jordin Davenport. Laudermilt had 11 digs and three aces, while Davenport had six assists and three digs. Laudermilt has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Alexander was led to victory by Ava McCall and Abbi Ohms. McCall had eight aces and five digs, while Ohms had 15 digs. Those eight aces gave McCall a new career-high.

Meigs' loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Alexander, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Meigs will welcome Nelsonville-York at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alexander, they are taking a road trip to square off against Waterford at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
