Soccer Game Preview: Greenbrier vs. Lakeside

The Greenbrier Wolfpack will take on the Lakeside Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Greenbrier is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering McIntosh just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Chiefs who were credited with the win. McIntosh got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Greenbrier's four. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wolfpack came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Chiefs are ranked 66th).

Last Tuesday, the Panthers didn't have quite enough to beat the Vikings and fell 2-1.

The Panthers dropped their record down to 3-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Greenbrier, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Greenbrier beat Lakeside 2-0 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Greenbrier repeat their success, or does Lakeside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
