Softball Recap: Haralson County Takes a Loss

Haralson County blew Armuchee out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Armuchee got their revenge. The Rebels fell just short of the Indians by a score of 3-1.

Kirby Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Haralson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Hope Davis also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Haralson County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 13-13. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Armuchee, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

While Haralson County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
