Basketball Game Preview: Schaumburg Christian Conquerors vs. Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes

Having just played yesterday, the Schaumburg Christian Conquerors will jump right back in to play the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

While Schaumburg Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They ended the year with a bang, routing Aurora Central Catholic 58-36 on Friday. The Conquerors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Lucas Bustamante, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. His morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Saenz, who posted five points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Marian Central Catholic didn't have too much trouble with Kennedy on Friday as they won 72-53.

Schaumburg Christian's record is now 9-6. As for Marian Central Catholic, their record now sits at 4-10.

Schaumburg Christian came up short against Marian Central Catholic in their previous meeting last Tuesday, falling 65-57. Can Schaumburg Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
