Basketball Recap: Lakeside Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lakeside Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The game between them and the Belleville Wildcats didn't end well, with the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors falling 55-39. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Despite the loss, Lakeside Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Farah Stuebs, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Stuebs a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaylen Bou, who posted five points.

Lakeside Lutheran now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Belleville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Lakeside Lutheran will take on Lake Country Lutheran in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Country Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Belleville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-52 win against Columbus on the 12th.
