Volleyball Recap: Purvis' Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Purvis dropped to 30-6 on Thursday, ending the team's eight-match streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Hancock Hawks by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss back in September.

Madyson Easley paced Purvis' offense, picking up 11 kills. Easley got some help from Presley Long and her 25 assists. Ellie Saffle controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for Hancock, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since August 23rd.

Hancock was led to victory by Emma Atwell and Adriana Guess. Atwell had 18 digs, while Guess had nine digs and one assist. Those nine digs gave Guess a new career-high.

Purvis and Hancock should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings. The Tornadoes (ranked eighth) will meet Brookhaven (ranked 179th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hancock will challenge Jim Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (21 vs. 162).
