Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Leopards vs. Pike Valley Panthers

The Lincoln Leopards will challenge the Pike Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-17, which was the final score in Lincoln's tilt against Stockton on Tuesday. The contest marked the Leopards' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pike Valley). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Natoma 55-22. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers who have now won three games in a row.

Lincoln better focus on containing Kylie Loring and Breanna Reeves as the pair were huge in Pike Valley's win. Loring went 9 for 22 en route to 25 points and six rebounds, while Reeves dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 12 boards, and ten assists. Those 12 boards gave Reeves a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Martin, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Pike Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Pike Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
